Sound, Salt, Massage Therapy and More in Boise, ID
Taking care of yourself is key to leading a long, happy, and healthy life. If you're dealing with chronic breathing issues, anxiety, or ongoing skin conditions, consider the benefits of halotherapy, massage, sound therapy, and other services offered by Salt Sanctuary. See below for our menu of services and click to get more information on each.
Natural, Holistic Remedies for Skin, Breathing, & Emotional Problems
In short, halotherapy uses salt rooms and the circulation of microparticles of salt to help with a variety of conditions, including skin and lung conditions as well as chronic stress. See our Halotherapy Page for more information.
- Please Note: We have a family salt room where parents and children can play together, discovering "treasures" buried in play sand while absorbing the healing properties of Himalayan pink salt therapy.
Sound Therapy / Sound Baths
Salt Sanctuary uses sound baths, also known as crystal bowl sound immersion. This kind of bath does not require changing clothes; Sound therapy is the exposure to specific tones and vibrations from crystal bowls that harmonize with your body to help you relax. See our Natural Stress Remedies Page for more details.
This is essentially a type of sound therapy, but it involves the human voice instead. Someone trained in guided meditation uses a prompted, moderately-scripted process to help keep a client on a peaceful mental and emotional path instead of allowing the mind to wander in unproductive directions. See our Natural Stress Remedies Page for more details.
- Bonus! Attending more than one guided meditation session can also teach you self-meditation for those times when you can't immediately visit Salt Sanctuary when you need it.
If you've ever been exposed to or had the opportunity to participate in a session where a group of people meditate together, often chanting something like "Ohhmmm…" repeatedly, you've seen a basic Kirtan session. Kirtan can include soothing music and mantras, as mentioned above. See our Natural Stress Remedies Page for more information.
Salt Sanctuary's founder, Christina Baylis, is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and uses traditional and alternative medicine massage techniques (including Himalayan salt massages) to help clients feel better in a way that works best for them.
Nidra means sleep so essentially this is yogic sleep. Yoga Nidra is best described as the meditative state that exists between asleep and awake. In this state of consciousness your nervous system has the opportunity to reset itself. This allows the sympathetic nervous system, the fight or flight response, to shut down, while the parasympathetic nervous system, the rest and digest function, is able to activate. This practice is done in a comfortable reclined or lying down position with eyes closed. Blankets and neck pillows will be provided or participants can feel free to bring their own. Practitioners of Yoga Nidra can expect better sleep, less stress, a stronger immune system, improved mood, increased energy in daily life, a decrease in anxiety and trauma response, more positive thinking, and more.
Intentional breathwork and dry salt therapy is a powerful combination for your respiratory and mental health. Breathwork immediately activates the parasympathetic nervous system, the rest and digest function, creating a sense of calm. Breathwork downregulates the nervous system, shutting down the fight or flight response that many people live most of their lives in today. Breathwork is a powerful technique for moving energy so it's important to go at your own pace. The techniques used in these sessions will vary from deep relaxation to powerful cleansing. Please let Corrine know if you have any health conditions such as uncontrolled high blood pressure or heart concerns before beginning a breathwork practice. Practitioners of breathwork can expect to experience better sleep, regulated blood pressure, less stress, healthier cell function, increased respiratory health, and more.

From a Client
"I had my first Halotherapy session this morning and was very impressed. I spend a lot of time at the ocean and this provides a similar rejuvenation effect, the taste and smell of salt permeates the air and the positive energy soothes the soul. The 45 minutes provided ample time to pray, meditate and connect to source. Thank you Christina Baylis for your expert care and providing such expert service."
